Configuration
Markdrip’s settings are available from the in-app Settings screen. This page summarizes what each area controls.
Capture
Section titled “Capture”- Microphone — the input device Markdrip records from.
- System audio — optional loopback capture (e.g. via ScreenCaptureKit on macOS) so remote participants’ voices are captured alongside yours.
- Auto-detection — let Markdrip start recording automatically when it detects a meeting app is active, instead of starting recordings manually.
Models
Section titled “Models”Markdrip runs transcription, diarization, voice-ID, and summarization on-device. Use the in-app Models settings panel to see which local model handles each task and to manage on-disk model downloads. The first download of a model happens over the network as an explicit, user-initiated action; after that, inference runs fully offline.
Vault location
Section titled “Vault location”The vault is the folder where Markdrip stores your Markdown notes and its local search index. You can point Markdrip at any folder on your machine, including one synced by your own file-sync tool of choice — Markdrip itself never syncs or uploads vault contents.
Agent access
Section titled “Agent access”Agent access is disabled by default. When you enable it, compatible tools can make read-only queries across your configured vault. The Settings panel does not offer per-content selection or a write mode. See Agents to learn about the available tools and limits.
Calendar
Section titled “Calendar”Optionally use your local calendars to title a meeting and note who was invited, so new notes arrive already labeled. This is off by default and runs entirely on-device — nothing about your calendar is uploaded.
To turn it on:
- Open Settings → Calendar and switch on Use local calendars.
- Grant calendar access when Markdrip asks. If you previously declined, enable Markdrip under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars and come back.
- Choose which calendars Markdrip may read. By default every calendar is eligible; narrow it to just the ones you want.
Markdrip reads only the calendars you pick, and only to fill in a meeting’s title and invited attendees. To remove everything it has added, use Forget calendar data in the same panel: it clears every calendar-derived detail from your notes and leaves the rest of each note untouched.
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”Settings → Privacy shows a live summary of sensitive data on this device (meetings, people, remembered voices) and gives you controls over outbound behavior:
- Share usage data — enables or disables product-usage measurements. Outside the EEA and UK this is on by default; inside the EEA or UK it is off by default and requires your explicit opt-in. Turning it off immediately stops future sends and clears any queued measurements; it does not affect recording, transcription, local files, or your license. A “Delete previously shared data” button sends an authenticated deletion request for measurements already sent.
