2026-10-09 — website session replay disabled

Session replay is disabled on the marketing, documentation and account websites. Page visits and the other measurements described in our privacy notice remain available. Existing retention periods are unchanged.

2026-10-08 — website privacy controls

Our privacy notice explains measurement on the public websites. Copied text, form interactions and outbound-link URLs are excluded. Pages with query parameters or fragments are not recorded, including sign-in returns. Marketing measurements include download clicks and interest in Plus pricing.

2026-10-06 — prepared for the next release

Agent Access / MCP now explains the explicit Read / Write opt-in for Plus: connected tools can update meeting titles and tags, update contact details, and create, edit, complete, defer or remove tasks immediately. Earlier proposal-only settings keep their original permissions. Ordinary local reads remain in Free; private Insights reads require their separate permission.

Connection setup adds copyable Hermes YAML, Test connection and explicit Repair audit guidance. Connection tests return access information without reading meetings; a broken audit still blocks content reads and writes. The local agent access guide documents current tools, task-update arguments and refreshing discovery after permission changes. These changes are prepared for publication, not a release announcement.

2026-09-22 — under review for the next release

Voice memory is moving into your selected data folder, after an updated notice explains how it follows the folder’s backup, sharing and sync. Recognition stays on your device. Speaker matching can rebuild missing voice samples from a meeting’s recording. Migration and sync acceptance are still being completed.

The app also remembers the main window’s size and position between sessions.

2026-09-16 — prepared for the next release

Plus adds meeting insights, contact interaction history, private context notes, and My coach with a chosen focus, cited suggestions and documentation trends. You choose the included meetings; cloud text analysis and private agent reads have separate permissions. Free keeps context notes and fictional Plus previews. See Insights and My coach.

The app now keeps processing status visible. Recordings, voiceprints and acoustic information stay on this device through Markdrip-controlled AI routes, including when cloud text tasks are enabled. Previously saved audio permissions no longer authorize uploads. These changes are prepared for publication, not a release announcement.

2026-09-09 — prepared for the next release

Your plan shows subscription management and license removal when Plus is active. Activation, import and purchase actions are offered on Free.

Storage choices now remain visible after saving, leaving Settings, and restarting. Launch-fixed folders explain why they cannot be changed. Calendar controls explain missing direct sign-in or paused connections and offer the relevant next step; denied macOS access has an Open System Settings action.

Selecting Fast (English) starts its required on-device download with progress and retry guidance. Ask explains local processing and its accuracy limits more clearly, with improved instructions for consulting notes and reporting missing evidence.

Sign in and activate lets the next app receive an owned license after you confirm a matching code and choose the license in your browser. This requires a matching account service deployment and is not yet live. License-file import remains available. See Configuration.

Meetings open on a readable summary, with separate Transcript and My notes views. Advanced processing controls sit under Meeting tools. Standard summaries cover more of the discussion, alongside decisions and next steps.

Paid voice-memory actions identify Plus before asking you to enable them. Settings lets you remove a license from this device and return to Free while keeping recordings, notes, speaker names, and saved voices. Removing a license does not cancel its subscription.

First-time setup uses a country-only lookup to choose regional usage-data controls. UK/EEA and unknown regions require an explicit opt-in. Confirmed regions outside EEA/UK default reporting on; Settings → Privacy retains the opt-out. Offline restrictions and previous opt-outs remain in place.

Meeting activity brings saved meeting counts, recorded time, monthly trends, and estimated speaking time into one local view. Available identity and timing coverage are shown alongside the numbers. Included in Free; speaker memory retains its existing Plus availability. See Meeting activity.

On-device processing now clearly shows Cloud processing: Off. Licensing, update checks, and enabled usage reporting operate independently of meeting processing. Existing connection restrictions remain in place unless you explicitly change them; organization policies still apply.

First-meeting guidance explains local setup, recording or audio import, and checking a useful result. Notes now include a short guide to verification and reuse. Settings explain local transcription trade-offs, optional AI providers and MCP access more clearly. Agent access now offers an explicit read-and-propose mode for Plus, with a before-and-after review and approval for each supported change. Read-only access remains the default and is included in Free.

The website adds a worked sample meeting and a neutral guide to choosing a meeting-notes app. Device guidance focuses on Apple silicon and distinguishes recommendations from tested minimums. Windows and Linux targets remain provisional. These additions are prepared for publication, not a release announcement.

2026-09-08 — Website and documentation

The website now explains meeting-app compatibility, recording without a monthly minute quota, calendar preparation, optional AI providers, and local MCP access. Free and Plus share one download; Plus can be enabled later from the app.

The optional paid plan is now called Plus across Markdrip and the website. Its features, price, and existing licenses are unchanged.

A refreshed website makes Free and Plus easier to compare. Documentation keeps local search and copyable Markdown, with clearer starting points. The documentation and account websites now disclose session replay and interaction measurement separately from the desktop app’s privacy controls.

2026-09-08 — prepared for the next release

These changes accompany the next reviewed app release; this entry is not a publication announcement.

Clear service choices. Meeting processing stays on-device by default. Before the first connection, choose service connections and basic usage reporting. Daily update checks have their own control. The September 9 processing update above replaces the earlier fully offline setup choice.
AI providers by task. Choose supported external tasks independently, review what each sends, and see provider activity and cost estimates locally.
Settings and Ask. Settings uses separate searchable category pages. Ask shows its selected processing location and readable formatted answers.
Prepare a calendar meeting. Add agenda items and notes from an upcoming event in Today or Meetings and bring them into its recording.
Remember voices with awareness. A one-time explanation enables local voice memory; subsequent saving follows your setting. You remain responsible for participant permission.
Shorter first-run notices. Accept and Decline are available immediately, with links to the September 8 terms and privacy notices.

2026-09-05

Local meeting-note exports. A new export menu on every note lets you save content to your device with no upload. Available actions: Save as Markdown, Email draft, Save audio clip, and Local Git handoff. Transcript timestamp links let you seek to the spoken segment in local audio playback. Audio and voice fingerprints are never eligible for any export. Network workspace exports (coming soon) are not included in this release. See Export and share meeting notes for details.

2026-08-30

Usage reporting on by default (outside EEA/UK). The app now sends pseudonymous, content-free usage measurements to help improve the product — integer counts of product actions and current object counts. No audio, transcripts, notes, summaries, voiceprints, speaker names, or other meeting content is included. Outside the EEA and UK this is on by default; inside the EEA or UK it is off by default and requires your explicit opt-in. Turn it off (or on) at any time under Settings → Privacy → Share usage data. Turning it off immediately stops future sends and clears any queued measurements on your device. See Privacy & Local-First Guarantees and Configuration for full details.
Local-calendar context. Markdrip can use your local calendars to title a meeting and note who was invited, so new notes arrive already labeled. Off by default; enable in Settings → Calendar and choose which calendars to include. Nothing about your calendar leaves your device. Use “Forget calendar data” to clear all calendar-derived details from your notes at any time. See Configuration.
Privacy documentation expanded. New Biometric & Voice Data Notice documents how voice fingerprints are stored (on-device only), erased, and what consent is required when enrolling others. New Rights and data requests page covers how to exercise access, correction, deletion, and other rights regarding the narrow licensing-channel and usage-measurement data we process.
Terms of Service updated. The August 2026 revision adds the product- usage telemetry channel, documents the per-region default and opt-out, and corrects the licensing-channel IP-handling description.
Public documentation site. Markdrip now has a dedicated, markdown-first documentation site (this site) with agent-readable outputs (/llms.txt, /llms-full.txt, and a raw Markdown version of every page).
