Recording looks active but the note comes out empty

Section titled “Recording looks active but the note comes out empty”

Usually a macOS microphone permission (TCC) issue: an unsigned or freshly rebuilt copy of the app can reset the OS’s permission grant, so recording silently captures silence. Re-grant microphone access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, and confirm Markdrip appears in the list.

System-audio (loopback) capture requires Screen Recording permission in addition to Microphone permission. Grant both, then fully quit and reopen Markdrip so the new permission takes effect.

Open the note and re-tag the segment to the correct person; Markdrip learns from corrections over time. If the same person is split across multiple entries in People, merge them from that view.

Confirm you’re opening the signed, bundled application (not an unbundled dev build). If it still won’t launch, check Console.app for a dyld error naming a missing library and report it — that indicates a packaging issue, not a user-fixable configuration problem.

Include your Markdrip version, OS version, and the exact behavior you’re seeing (what you expected vs. what happened) when reporting an issue.
