Record your first meeting
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”You can evaluate Markdrip alongside your current meeting-notes app. Keep your existing archive in place and start with one new meeting. Free needs no account or payment details and includes recording, transcription, summaries and Ask.
Choose your notes folder under Settings → Privacy & storage → Storage and finish the local component setup. See Your device and local AI for memory, storage and transcription choices. A calendar and external AI provider are optional; neither is needed to record a meeting.
Choose a quiet test recording and make sure your microphone is available to Markdrip. If you want to capture voices from a call, also allow system-audio capture when your operating system asks.
Tell participants before recording and obtain any permission your meeting requires. If you use an external AI service or remember voices, explain that too. The app’s notices do not obtain permission from participants for you.
Make the recording
Section titled “Make the recording”- Open Markdrip and select Record.
- Say a few sentences, then select Stop.
- Wait for the note to finish processing. It appears in your vault as a Markdown file.
- Open the note to review the transcript, correct any text, and add tags.
If no audio appears in the note, use permission and capture help.
Continue
Section titled “Continue”Before relying on a result, find one decision and one action item. Check the wording and speaker against the transcript and replay the relevant audio. Use the edit control on a transcript segment to correct it. Export Markdown or copy a follow-up from the note’s export menu, then open the result in your own tools.
For a familiar test, use Import audio to process an existing WAV, MP3, M4A or FLAC recording you have permission to use. This imports audio, not an account or note archive from another app. Technical file limits and device resources still apply; Markdrip does not impose a monthly on-device recording-minute quota.
For the next meeting, connect a calendar if useful and prepare an upcoming event with agenda items and notes in Today. Search or Ask your saved meetings to revisit previous decisions. Enable Plus in the same app only if remembered voices across meetings or deeper analysis would help you.
